Skip bombing
Description
A silent Royal Air Force training film on the principles of "Skip bombing". Uses diagrams and slow motion footage of skip bombing trials by B17 Flying fortress, Douglas Boston, Bristol Beaufort and Lockheed Lightning aircraft. The term skip bombing is applied when the bomb is purposely bounced from the water and is aimed to make allowance for the distance travelled after hitting the water.
