Training flight to New Zealand
Description
Fourteen navigators doing a course in advanced navigation techniques flew to New Zealand in 5 Hs748 aircraft. The party was under the command of Eing Commander B. Tennant, based at East Sale, Vic. During the 5,000 mile trip via Norfolk Island and Amberley, Queensland, the navigators used astro and gyro grid navigation techniques. This flight marked the end of a four months course which qualifies the men to become Navigation Instructors and Squadron Navigation Officers.
