Return of the 9th Division to Australia
Description
Coverage of the return of the 9th Division AIF showing the troopship convoy, escorts and activities on board the troopships. Troopships featured include: SS Queen Mary, SS Ile de France and SS Aquitania. Escort the heavy cruiser HMAS Australia. Shows the arrival in Fremantle and Sydney harbour and troops disembarking. Coverage of the 9th Division march through Sydney on 2 April 1943. Present at the saluting dias at Town Hall were Lord Gowrie, General Sir Thomas Blamey and General Morshead.
