Inter services swimming carnival
Description
The Carnival was originated and organised by the Royal Australian Navy. Army Amenities Services were responsible for the prizes. The events took place at the side of HMAS Orara, which, at the time, was in use as a Port Station at Madang. Official party including VX27 Major General Allan Hollick Ramsay CBE DSO ED, General Officer Commanding 5th Australian Division, seated on deck of HMAS Orara.
