Roman Catholic memorial service at the Lae war cemetery
Description
A commemoration service to those who gave their lives in the capture of Lae - men of 7th and 9th Divisions and attached personnel. Mass was celebrated by NX369 Colonel Patrick Treacy Boland (ACG - RC) and the address given by NX700225 (NX70612) Chaplain 2nd Class Henry James Reid (DACG - RC). 31 (NX35000) Lieutenant General Vernon Ashton Hobart Sturdee CB CBE DSO, General Officer Commanding 1st Australian Army, and staff, walk along path to cemetery.
