After his visit to the Philippines to confer with General MacArthur and tour of inspection through the sectors of New Guinea held by Australian troops, he arrives in Lae for consultation with Lieutenant General Vernon Ashton Hobart Sturdee CB CBE DSO, General Officer Commanding 1st Australian Army.
