Occupation of Sanga Sanga by 2/25 Australian Infantry Battalion
Description
At 0030 hours 11 September 1945, a convoy of Landing Craft Mechanized (LCM) carrying troops of 2/25 Australian Infantry Battalion, left Manggar for Sanga Sanga. They were met at the mouth of the Mahakam River by a Japanese pilot launch which guided the convoy through the minefields and up the river.
