Official raising BCOF flags
Description
On 12 April 1946, the flags of the British Commonwealth of Nations were flown together for the first time in occupied Japan. The Commander-in-Chief BCOF, Lieutenant General J Northcott, inspected a guard of honour composed of units of Royal Navy, Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders, 9th NZ Brigade, 34th Australian Infantry Brigade, 8th Ghurka Rifles and Royal Air Force.
