Anniversary parade BCOF Kure, Japan 1948
Today, BCOF's 2nd anniversary, 2,300 officers, men and members of the Women's Services paraded in Anzac Park and were reviewed by the Acting Commander in Chief Air Vice Marshal C A Bouchier CB CBE DFC. First parade in BCOF area which was representative of detachments from US Forces and Women's services took part. Royal Navy and RAN personnel in parade in charge Lieutenant Commander C J Bateman, RN. 66th Australian Infantry Battalion band in full dress parade played at the ceremony. Parade commander was 25 (NX1) Brigadier (Brig) Ronald Godfrey Howy Irving. Present at the saluting base with AVM Bouchier were: Naval Officer in Charge, Lieutenant Commander F A L Heron-Watson, RN; UK Component Commander, Colonel (Col) E P Dickson; 26 (N392) Brig Ronald Nicholas Lamond Hopkins; Lieutenant Colonel R B Dawson; Commander Chugoku Military Gov Region, Col R C Snyder; O325 (55) Air Commodore Ian Douglald McLachlan.
