A Guard of Honour from the 65th Australian Infantry Battalion (BCOF) was formed at Kure on the 29 September 1948, on the arrival of VX1 General Sir Thomas Albert Blamey GBE KCB CMG DSO ED. General Blamey inspected the Guard.
