The first thirty feet of this film was shot as a camera test. The subject of the test was the waterproofing of jeeps by personnel of the 2/6 Field Coy RAE at Barron River, Redlynch about 14 miles from Cairns. The rest of the film is deals with the amphibious landing exercises held at Unity Point north of Trinity Beach North Queensland by units of the 7 Australian Division 21 October 1944 and in November 1944. Scenes include: Engineers of the 2/6 Field Coy RAE laying mines and erecting entanglements on the beach. Engineers igniting a 400lb TNT charge to breach the entanglements. Engineers using mine detection equipment. Troops of the 21 Australian Infantry Brigade disembarking from Landing Ship Infantry (LSI). Matilda tanks of the 2/9 Armoured Regiment landing from Landing Craft Tank (LCT). Troops of the 21 Infantry Brigade boarding landing craft from troopship. Scenes on board the HMS Glenearn and landing craft prior to landing. DUKWs manned by the Mobile Workshop Wing AASC Mobile School coming ashore after having carried out experimental exercises at sea.
