1st Battalion RAR advance party arrive Tan Son Nhut Air Base, Saigon. DPR/TV/253
Description
The first element of the main body of the First Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment landed at Saigon's Tan Son Nhut Air Base at dawn Wednesday 1965-06-02. The battalions Commanding Officer, Lieut-Col. I.R.W. Brumfield was the first to disembark from the aircraft. He was met at the bottom of the gangway by Commander Aust. Army Force Vietnam Col. O.D. Jackson and Senior American and Vietnamese Army Officers. They were transported by three U.S. Army buses to a concentration area outside of Saigon. Cameraman W.O.II Bryan Dunne.
