Concert party a hit in Vietnam DPR/TV/580
Description
The largest entertainment group yet seen by Australian troops in Vietnam received a warm welcome when they performed in the Australian Task Force area. The Australian Broadcasting Commission dance band, supported by top-line artists, gave two one hour shows. The stage was a temporarily-erected platform attached to one end of an RSL amenities building being constructed by diggers. The 18 strong group of entertainers went on to give shows in the Logistic Support Group area at Vung Tau where they also performed for the RAAF sick and wounded soldiers in wards at Vung Tau were entertained informally by the group. Identified personnel: Lorrae Desmond, Jackie De Paul, (Jacqueline de Paul), Jim Gussey, Gus Merzi, Dinah Lee, Gunner Bob Reardon.
