Description

Effects of Mustard gas and Lewisite. Shows tests on on the forearms of a volunteers and victims of accidental exposure. Film inter-titles read: Mustard Gas and Lewisite are liquids that blister the skin and seriously damage the eyes. They give off a vapor that burns the skin, the eyes and the respitary tract. A drop of Mustard Gas is placed on the arm. Lewisite. A drop of Lewisite to be treated with anti-arsenical lotion. Lewisite to be treated with anti-gas ointment. Mustard. The arms twenty hours later. Mustard. Lewisite. Lewisite treated with anti-arsenical ointment. Mustard treated with anti-gas ointment. The steps in medical treatment are 1. Cleansing with Anti-septic. 2. Draininage with sterile instruments. 3. Application of amyl salicylate. [Shows face and torso of volunteer] The next pictures were taken days after accidental contamination with Mustard Gas.
