On the gunline
Description
The Royal Australian Navy guided missile destroyer HMAS Perth at war in Vietnam and was filmed during her second deployment, September 1968 to April 1969. The film depicts the routine of war for the officers and men, including maintenance and preparations at the United States Navy base at Subic Bay, Philippines; under- way replenishment of fuel and ammunition, and action on the gun line off the coast of South Vietnam. [This film was mostly likely made with an American audience in mind since the narrator has an American accent] See also F10730 for outtakes.
