Island sailors (Navy in focus)
Description
Promotional film on the work of Royal Australian Navy in training of the Papuan New Guinea sailors on the naval base HMAS Tarangau, Manus Island, PNG. Recruitment of young Papuan and New Guineans for the RAN PNG Division. Technical and trades training to service and maintain the patrol boats including further schooling at HMAS Nirimba, NSW. Recuits selected for officer training are sent to HMAS Cerberus.
