Korean strike No. 77 Sqn RAAF
This item consists of a scene of No. 77 Squadron RAAF Gloster Meteor jet fighters taking off from Kimpo airfield and 48 individual gun camera films. The gun camera films were taken in the course of No. 77 Squadron RAAF Meteors attacks with High Explosive rocket, Napalm rocket and 20mm cannon on enemy troop concentrations, supply areas and industrial installations in North Korea, 2 April-3 May 1953. Each film is preceded with a title on which the aircraft number, date and pilot are cited. The 37th gun camera film is from the Australian War Memorial's Meteor A77-368 "Rosemary". The pilot was Sergeant R.L. Gilmour and the film was taken on 2 May 1953. The target was troop billets at Chaeryong, North Korea.
