Studio portrait of SX16401 Private (Pte) Bryan Stanford Trigg, 2/12 Field Ambulance. A farmer prior to enlisting in January 1942, Pte Trigg was one of six siblings from the Trigg family to enlist for service during the Second World War. Pte Trigg was on board Australian Hospital Ship Centaur when it was attacked and sunk off the coast of Brisbane by a Japanese submarine on 14 May 1943. 268 of the 332 people on board, including Pte Trigg, were killed. He was 29 years of age.
