Wstepne dochodzenia w Gestapo [Preliminary investigations...]
Depiction of a interrogation of a civilian by an officer in the Gestapo. The officer is seated behind a desk in the centre of the image. He is smiling and has a baton in his left hand, papers are scattered across the desk. He is looking at a civilian who is dressed in a suit and has his back to the viewer. He has a bloodied face and has been visibly beaten. An armed guard looks on from the bottom right corner. A portrait of Adolf Hitler is on the wall behind the interrogating officer's head. The print has been mounted on dark grey card. The title in Polish with English and French translation is printed bottom centre, beneath the image, in gold ink.
The original drawing reproduced in this offset lithograph was created by Polish artist Stanislaw Toegel (1905-1953) while held in a German labour camp at Gotteningen.
