Collection relating to James Lovel Stirton
Description
Studio portrait of NX8834 Private James Lovel Stirton, 2/1 Battalion. Private Stirton had already served in the First World War with the 7th Light Horse Regiment. He re-enlisted in December 1939, serving with the 2/6 Battalion and was captured during the Greek campaign of 1941. He was held at Stalag 383, Hohenfels, until the end of the war. and was discharged in July 1945.
