Diary of Lindsay Robert Turner, 1917 (Vol. 1)
Description
Diary relating to the First World War service of Second Lieutenant Lindsay Robert Turner, Australian Field Artillery. The diary contains entries from 9 November 1917 to 16 December 1917 and is the first of seven volumes written by Turner documenting his service during the war. The diary entries cover his embarkation from Australia aboard HMAT Port Sydney A15, life on board the troopship, and the voyage to and arrival in Egypt in December 1917. The diary appears to have been transcribed from originals at some stage after his service in the war.
