Description
Informal portrait of Australian journalist Bruce Sydney Pigott walking past an M151 A1 jeep. Bruce worked as a war correspondent for Reuters and was one of four journalists killed near Saigon on 5 May 1968 when a Mini-moke they were travelling in was ambushed by the Viet Cong. Bruce Pigott was aged 23. The other journalists were Ronald Bruce Laramy, (British) Reuters; Michael Birch, (Australian) Australian Associated Press and John Cantwell, (Australian) Time and Life. Frank Palmos, another Australian journalist, survived.
