Description

Collection relating to the First World War service of Second Lieutenant John Harold McIntyre, 1st Battalion AIF. Collection consists of three original handwritten letters from 2/Lt McIntyre to his mother. One letter was presumedly written from Lemnos in May 1915 and describes the landing at Gallipoli where he was wounded. The other two letters were written in August 1916 from France. Also included is a condolence letter to Mrs McIntyre dated January 1917 written by a fellow soldier, Captain Arthur H Champion, who served with her son in Egypt and at Gallipoli.
