Studio portrait of N297433 Private Gordon Charles Ward. Ward was born in Kentucky, NSW on 3 September 1913. He enlisted on 10 September 1941 at Kentucky, NSW and joined 61 Battalion. He was discharged on 24 August 1945.
His brother N297435 Private Arthur Edgar Ward served in 61 Battalion as well. Arthur Ward was born in Uralla, NSW on 26 September 1911 was living in Kentucky NSW when he enlisted on 10 March 1942. He served with 61 Battalion at Milne Bay in 1942-3 and Madang in 1943; and was killed in action on South Bougainville on 1 April 1945.
