Of his friend, Sig Weller notes: "Neil was the son of one of the three Kilby brothers who owned Parkwood Sheep Station to the north-west of Canberra. One of its boundary fences was the ACT/NSW border and you accessed the station by going out across the Belconnen Valley, which, at the time, was sheep grazing country: no houses whatsoever. Ginninderra Falls is on Parkwood Station and the company that produces Parkwood Eggs for the ACT took their name from that property. ... Neil and Gwen married while I was doing my National SErvice commitment and I invited Neil to be the groomsman at my wedding in 1970."
