Typed extract of letter from Charles Harold Breckell, 24 September 1916
Description
Typed extract of letter relating to the First World War service of 2583 Private Charles Harold Breckell, 19th Battalion. The original letter was written by Breckell on 24 September 1916 at a time when the Battalion, after taking part in the fighting at Pozières, was manning a quieter sector of the front in Belgium. Breckell writes of the incessant mud in the trenches, and states that he is including with the letter a few verses he has written while at war. This typed extract was created in 1928 by Australia House in London and sent to the Australian War Memorial.
