History / Summary

Purchased by journalist Sally Sara in New Delhi in 2008 and worn by her while working as a correspondent for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation in India, Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Sara held a number of foreign correspondent positions for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, including Africa, Asia and Europe. In 2011 she was the Afghanistan correspondent, based in Kabul. Sara covered the Australian forces, as well as the wider war being fought by Coalition forces. Being a female reporter, Sara was able to speak to women in Afghanistan, and gained access to stories the male reporters could not.
