Collection consists of a four page open letter written by Lt Gen Hobbs dated 8 September 1918, to 'Comrades of the 5th Australian Division'. The letter discusses how proud Lt Gen Hobbs is of the soldiers, and commends them on their hard work in the Somme area, particularly at Peronne. The letter discusses the captured enemy weapons, the time that had been spent at the front, and how much the Australian and English public appreciates the sacrifices that they have made.
