Reproduction trousers : New South Wales Lancers
Description
Reproduction brown drab wool twill straight legged trousers with two red plain weave wool stripes extending down the side seams. Celluloid buttons of the 1890s period at the waist and fly made by 'C. ANDERSON SYDNEY'. No pockets. Waist and fly lined with unbleached cotton twill. Slightly scooped leg hems finished with two squares of leather stitched to inside of each leg, with ferrous metal instep chains attached through slits in the leather. Seam allowances finished with modern machine overlocking.
History / Summary
Reproduction trousers of the type worn with the brown drab and scarlet full dress tunic of the New South Wales Lancers of the 1890s period. Probably made for display purposes.
