Description

Original diary and transcript covering Sturrock's time as a prisoner of the Germans in Poland and Germany. Whilst a POW he kept a daily diary detailing the conditions he lived in, the amount and quality of the food given to the prisoners, the number of parcels he was receiving via the Red Cross, the daily work of the prisoners, going into the local town and eating with locals, and the prisoners easy access to the town. In the back of the diary Sturrock listed all the parcels he received, his pay as a POW and also the names and addresses of other ex-POWs.
