Original Caption: "Three officers of the ? :Thompson, Wardle and Whitty". Wardle referst to Captain Robert Norman Wardle, Mobile Veterinary Section (embarked 10 May 1917 on HMAT A42 'Boorona' as part of 1917 special reinforcements) from Ballarat, Vic. Whitty is probably Captain John Whitty, HQ Australian Mounted Division (AMD). The identy of Thompson is not known but he too was probably AMD Corps Staff.
