History / Summary
This German 13 mm Mauser anti-tank rifle M1918, the first anti-tank rifle, was little more than an enlarged Mauser 7.92 mm infantry rifle. Fitted with a long barrel and supported on a light bipod, the single-shot weapon fired a 13 mm jacketed bullet with an armour piercing steel core at 3000 ft per second. It had the capacity to pierce armour plate used on British and French tanks.
