Description
Incomplete draft manuscript containing parts one and two of "Galleghan's Greyhounds" a unit history for the 2/30th Infantry Battalion. Covers the formation of the unit at Tamworth, posting to Malaya, eventual surrender to the Japanese at Singapore. The unit history was written after the fall of Singapore by Bayliss, Penfold and Crisp in the form of diaries and notes. Cliff Bayliss who died in June 1943 whilst a prisoner of the Japanese. Also a five page story "Boong House" written by Cliff Bayliss about Australian soldiers' relationships with the local Malays before their capture.
