Braendlin Albini Rifle : South Australian Infantry
Description
Braendlin Albini Rifle. Lock marked 1867. Breech stamped BRAENDLIN-ALBINI / Patent / No 2250 and barrel H HOLLAND 98 New Bond Street. Butt tang stamped crown over SA and 101 (part erased) with H Holland on the right side. The cleaning rod is stamped 1013 and has a squared off end which is slotted for a cleaning cloth. It is complete with all parts including a white buff leather sling.
History / Summary
This rifle was used by the South Australian Military Forces who were the only Australian colony that used this type of rifle.
