Description
Sergeant Owen Kenneth Stewart who was at the Base resting in the Convalescent Camp prior to returning to the Front sent this image to his mother in May 1915. This image shows B Subsection, 7th Battery Australian Field Artillery aboard the HMAT Rangatira (A22). W. P. Sparkes [who was also in hospital at the same time] is marked with an x (standing on the right towards the back), Stewart is in the centre (seated with a darker tunic); Second Lieutenant S F Hodgens is left of Stewart; Farrier Sergeant Felix Francis Howard is to the left of Hodgens.
