This collection includes newspaper clippings collected by Lanser, several featuring Lanser, and a selection broadly relating to his First World War service. Of note is an article from The Daily Telegraph titled "Turks We Wanted, Turks We Got" dated 9 June 1915, comprising a letter written by Lanser to his family that is not in the Australian War Memorial collection. In this letter, Lanser recalls the first landing at Gallipoli, four subsequent days of fighting, his wounding by a sniper and his subsequent convalescence.
