[Sound recording] Anzacs, Well Done!
Description
Recording of the song titled, 'Anzacs! Well Done!', created as part of the Music and the First World War project. Lyrics written by William Darwin, who served with the 7th Battalion at Gallipoli, and music composed by Charlwood Dunkley, pseudonym of Ambrose Gregory. Produced by Chris Latham, with Andrew Goodwin as vocalist and Alan Hicks on piano. This work was performed in the spirit of the time with some changes made for the modern ear.
Chris Latham, producer of this recording, notes: 'This is a really good song with a great tune that sticks with you. It is a lovely piece that is charming and not too bombastic. It is quietly patriotic.'
