Description
AJRP Sub-Series name: Post-surrender Rabaul material received from HQ 8 Military District. This item is a summary of the first dialogue between the Australian and Japanese forces regarding the establishment of camps for former servicemen in Rabaul. Main participants were colonel Carmeren, Lieutenant Colonel Chapman, and the chiefs of staff, TAKAHASHI and OTA. Matters discussed include locations of camps, water supply, food production, movements of troops to camp sites, size and composition of camps, health and medical services, etc.
