Description

Notebook relating to the Second World War service of NX55503 Staff Sergeant Charles Laurie Price, 10 Australian General Hospital.

Price was a prisoner of war of the Japanese, and was interned at Changi and Kranji camps in Malaya between 1942 and 1945. In his notebook, Price wrote a nominal roll of members of 10 Australian General Hospital and nurses, as well as numbers of casualties and a list of letters sent and received. It also contains lists of books, songs, recipes, “food fancies” and canteen prices, and notes on and variety of subjects including the Malayan campaign, the Burma-Thai Railway, the movement of his unit, and agriculture.
