Melbourne, Vic. 1944-07-14. V143810 Major J. D. E. Shotter, MBE AFC, Deputy Assistant Director Motor Vehicles, Master General of the Ordnance Branch, in front of the model of the ill fated British Airship "R101" (G-FAAW). Major Shotter was the Engineer Officer of the "R34", the sister ship of the "R101", as a Lieutenant of the RAF when the "R34" made her record crossing of the Atlantic in 1919.
