Captain Jason Otter, 5th Aviation Regiment (5 Avn Regt) later noted: "Texas Helo was the desert south of Kandahar - this was a live fire designated area where we could train - where we did our test flights, most of our Local Area Orientation and introduction flying. This footage was captured during Aircrew Qualification training onboard either [Australian Army Chinook] A15-201 or 202. It commences with the low level 50’ AHO (above heights obstacle) return from Texas Helo to Kandahar. The imagery is captured from the Ramp with the Mag 58 ramp gun in view. Centre of picture is the Texas Helo range which is located 15 km to the south of Kandahar Base. The flight track illustrates the flat featureless terrain between both locations".
