Description
Papers relating to the Malayan Emergency and Korean War service of A38786 Lieutenant George Harvey Barron, HMAS Albatross, Royal Australian Navy.
Barron was a pilot in the Royal Australian Navy between 1950 and 1954, and served in Malta, Malaysia, and Korea. He was declared medically unfit to fly in late 1954, and subsequently took up general duties until 1957. This collection contains papers pertaining to his Royal Australian Navy service, such as telegrams, certificates of appointment, and letters regarding his health and pay. It also contains letters to and from Barron regarding details of his service and the medals he was awarded.
