Log book of George Harvey Barron
Log book relating to the Malayan Emergency service of A38786 Sub-Lieutenant George Harvey Barron, 811 Naval Air Squadron, Royal Australian Navy.
This flying log book records flights that Lynch took between 15 January 1952 and 3 August 1954, and includes details such as units, dates, types of aircraft, passengers, and purposes of the flights. Barron did his initial training in Australia, where he practiced the basics of aircraft handling, landings, and navigation. He then completed further training in England, performing cross country flights, aerobatics, evasive tactics, strafing, cloud flying, and formation flying. Subsequently, Barron served as a pilot during the Malayan Emergency, but was grounded due to medical reasons in late 1954.
Additionally, this log book contains several of Barron’s photographs of aircraft, as well his graduation certificate for the Naval Air Fighter School (dated 4 November 1953).
