Description

Official documents and papers relating to the Second World War internment and post war life of Antonin Horcicka in Europe, 13 March 1940 - c. 1950.

This file opens with papers relating to the internment of Antonin Horcicka at Dachau Concentration Camp including several forged documents used by Horcicka on his escape from the camp shortly before its liberation on 29 April 1945. The remaining items feature a variety of official papers including identity documents as well as membership cards and correspondence that trace Horcicka's movements and reveal some of the challenges he faced as a displaced person during the early post war period, his repatriation to Czechoslovakia and his association with several anti-fascist organisations.
