Letter relating to the Second World War service of 428679 Flying Officer Colin Kelvin Flockhart, Royal Australian Air Force.
This collection contains a handwritten three-page letter and envelope written by Flockhart on 1 December 1944 from England, to his family in Australia. Flockhart wrote the letter in the event he was killed to describe to his family his positive and happy experience with the RAAF, his belief in what he was doing, his faith in God and the contentment he felt, and his appreciation of them as a family. Flockhart was killed in a flying battle over France on 8 January 1945.
