Guide International Service
Collection of 17 articles (some photocopied) published in 'Guiding in Australia' (GIA), a magazine published by the Girl Guides Association of Australia between 1980-1994. The articles were published as a series of 16 parts, under the heading 'Winning the peace', in volumes February 1992 to July 1993. Written by Nancy Eastick (nee Kemp) and Barbara Godson, the articles describe the work of Australian adult volunteer Guide leaders who were members of the Guide International Service between 1942 and 1951, providing relief and welfare assistance, particularly with refugees and displaced persons. Each article is between 1 and 3 pages in length, and some contain photographs. The final article from GIA August 1993 contains an overview of the life and work of Nancy Eastick.
