Description
The destroyer HMAS Waterhen (left) towing the British hospital ship Vita to an anchorage about two miles outside the entrance to Tobruk harbour. The Vita had been attacked and badly damaged by German dive bombers. HMAS Waterhen in turn sank in June 1941 while being towed to a Mediterranean port after being damaged in an enemy bombing attack. All crew were saved.
