Indian Army Polo team visits Puckapunyal DPR/TV/928
Four officers from the Indian Army's elite 61st Lancers Regiment visited the Australian Army's Armoured Centre at Puckapunyal in Victoria recently. In Australia for a series of Polo matches, the Indian Officers watched as Australian Centurion Tanks, one of them commanded by Second Lieutenant David Ritchie of Forest Hills, Victoria, went through their paces. Two of the Indian officers, Captain Y. S. Ahlawat and Captain V. P. Singh discussed the tanks with the Chief Instructor at the Armoured Centre, Lieutenant-Colonel Busby Hill. Captain B. S. Suhag and Major Hentry Heath, the Senior Technical Instructor also found much in common to talk about. The visitors were given a demonstration of the firepower of a 106mm Recoilless rifle mounted on a Landrover. At Puckapunyal, Indian Army Officers watch as Centurion tanks like those used by the Australian Army in Vietnam, are put through their paces.
