Wallet 2 of 2 - Letters to Sunday Telegraph relating experiences of Victory in the Pacific Day, 1995
Collection relating to Second World War experiences of Sunday Telegraph readers, Australia 1995.
Wallet 2 of 2 - This wallet consists of handwritten and typescript letters responding to a request by the Sunday Telegraph for readers to describe how they celebrated Victory in the Pacific in 1945. 51 letters are included in this wallet, with most from people who were civilians in Sydney at the time, but several from other locations in Australia and from ex-service people. Extracts from the letters were published in a souvenir liftout in the Sunday Telegraph edition of 13 August 1995.
Some private information of the letter writers has been redacted by the Australian War Memorial.
Wallet also includes a souvenir liftout from the Sunday Telegraph 13 August 1995 and other news cuttings. The liftout includes material reprinted from the Sunday Telegraph, 12 August 1945.
The souvenir liftout is published with the permission of News Corp Australia.
