Letters to Sunday Telegraph
Description
Collection relating to Second World War experiences of Sunday Telegraph readers, Australia 1995.
The collection consists of handwritten and typescript letters responding to a request by the Sunday Telegraph for readers to describe how they celebrated Victory in the Pacific in 1945. 113 letters are included in the collection, with most from people who were civilians in Sydney at the time, but several from other locations in Australia and from ex-service people. Extracts from the letters were published in a souvenir liftout in the Sunday Telegraph edition of 13 August 1995.
Includes souvenir liftout from Sunday Telegraph 13 August 1995 and other news cuttings. The liftout includes material reprinted from Sunday Telegraph, 12 August 1945.
